After long battle with illness, my beloved and loyal companion finally passed away. I know this is coming but I still felt caught off guard. Unfortunately, most of the pet aftercare services don’t really explain their business clearly. I stumbled upon At Garden’s Edge name because it was on top of the list on Yelp. Hesitantly, I called because it was Sunday. Scott Summerville, answered the call, and with abundance of compassion and sympathy, explained the whole process, including the process of private cremation, in which you won’t get other pet’s remains. It’s solely your beloved’s remains. Listening to his explanation was like cold water in the desert. I know my beloved companion will be well taken care off. And the price that he quoted me was very reasonable, considering the type of service Scott performed. Scott gave me a timeframe when he will pick her up. When he arrived, right off bat, I know I can trust this person, well groomed and courteous. He treated her with full dignity and his word was very soothing and assuring. A week later, I received her cremains in professionally prepared package. Scott… you are really truly heaven sent…God bless you…

I had to put down my 14 year-old lab-mix Bella in the middle of the night. I knew her time was coming, my vet told me Friday her liver was failing but “it wouldn’t happen right away” but she started seizing in the middle of Sunday night and I knew I had to do it then. This wasn’t how I wanted to do this, I had planned to have someone come to the house…I was devastated. Bella hated going to the vet.
Afterwards, as I was leaving Echo Park Emergency they handled my about 5 pamphlets on pet cremation services. I leafed through them all Monday morning and liked the idea of a solitary cremation. I wanted HER ashes not another dogs. Scott [from] At Garden’s Edge was patient and kind. He picked up Bella within a few hours of my calling him. But more important…he went the extra mile for me. I was leaving later that week for Mammoth Mtn (where Bella and I often went) and asked if there was ANY way I could get her ashes to take with me. Scott explained that it really takes 6-8 days. I understood. A day later he called me back and said he had rearranged the schedules and he could grant me this wish. He met me at my work as I was leaving to head up there.
The presentation of the boxed ashes and the paw print were really lovely. I wasn’t sure I would really care all that much about that…but now that I have it, it’s very special. I felt the entire time that Bella was in good hands [with} At Garden’s Edge. I am very thankful and their treatment of me and my sweet girl has softened what has been a very sad time for me.

We suffered the loss of my son’s cat, Eartha, on 8/5/12, a Sunday morning. We were devastated and didn’t know where to turn. I was referred to At Garden’s Edge by the emergency vet’s office. I left a message and was promptly contacted (within 10 minutes). I had the pleasure of speaking to Scott Summerville, who explained the services available. I instantly felt his compassion and willingness to help my family through this difficult time. He was at our home within an hour to pick up Eartha and he displayed a very dignified way about how he handled our beloved cat. Scott offered kind words and he said a little prayer for Eartha as we said goodbye. This was very comforting to us and helped ease our grief. Upon Eartha’s return home the following week, we were very pleased with her clay paw print and memorable words that came with her wooden urn. The presentation was amazing.

My family is very grateful to Scott for his kindness, prompt attention and compassion during a very sad time in our lives. I have recommended At Garden’s Edge to all my family and friends who have pets so that when the time comes for their beloved pets to pass on, they too will be very well taken care of.

In May of 2012 my 7 year-old Rat Terrier Zero was diagnosed with Cancer and was given a very short time to live. I always let him be a dog, and do doggie things but he was like a child in my heart. When it was coming to the end for him, I knew I was not going to let him suffer. I Learned of home euthanasia and cremation for pets. I couldn’t bear thinking of him being euthanized at a veterinarian office and cremated in a group by someone who is just doing a job. When I contacted Scott from At Garden’s Edge I realized this was no cold call. Scott was patient, understanding and informative about the service they provided. When the time had come, Zero was put to rest on his favorite comfy chair. Scott never made me feel like his sole purpose was to take Zero away. I believe Scott from At Gardens Edge truly cared for Zero. After a prayer, and as much time as I needed to grieve, Scott removed Zero with much care. A week later, Scott returned with Zeros ashes in a soft bag in a little wooden box wrapped in purple tissue. There was also a clay stone with Zeros name and his paw print. The service that At Gardens Edge does is a God sent and Scott is truly a kind human being.

I am extremely thankful to have come across At Garden’s Edge on yelp. I called other crematories for estimates, but At Garden’s Edge had the most reasonable price for the services they offered. Scott, the owner, explained that they only do private cremations, which is very different from an individual cremation. With private cremations pets are cremated alone. With individual cremations pets are cremated with other pets (they are just partitioned off from other pets, but cremated simultaneously). I wouldn’t settle for anything less than the best service for my pet, and after talking to Scott over the phone several times I knew that I could trust him and the services he provided. He was extremely professional and informative. At a time when you’ve lost a loved one, you don’t want to have to deal with more than you have to. Scott was very patient, understanding, and sympathetic. He took care of all the arrangements with just one phone call.

My pet’s ashes were dropped off personally by Scott to my house and came in a wooden box urn along with a clay paw print with my dog’s name in block letters. The presentation was beautiful.

I am forever grateful knowing that my pet was in good hands.

Our family has only had 1 pet so when our 18 year old cat Dale passed away last Saturday night, we were at a loss. We didn’t know what to do or who to go to. That evening, I searched Yelp and found At Garden’s Edge. There were a number of other who provided this service, but At Garden’s Edge appeared to be closest to my residence. There were not many reviews for this small provider (husband and wife team), but decided to use their service after speaking briefly with Scott Sunday morning. Scott and his wife started the Company after dissatisfaction with the cremation of their pet. In lieu of this terrible event, our family considers ourselves fortunate to have found At Garden’s Edge. Scott, a true gentleman, came that morning to pick up our beloved cat. With great respect and care, he came to our home within an hour (even offered to take off his shoes!), consoled and prayed with our 3 year old and gracefully handled the financial aspect of the transaction with me outside of the presence of our family. We found the pricing to be reasonable and less than comparable services located much farther away. In lieu of the windstorm, Scott brought Dale’s ashes home to us in 1 week in an appropriate wood urn, a paw print with name and year for our Dale and an inspiration prayer for our daughter. Scott and At Garden’s Edge brought us great piece of mind in lieu of our family loss.

Teresa Summerville is an extremely sweet person who attended to my every need with exceptional kindness. Despite where she was, she came back to meet me the night my hamster Ball Ball passed away. She told me exactly what to expect and delivered on time. Since I was emotionally compromised at the time thus unable to make decisions of a specific urn, Teresa chose a perfect urn to keep my first pet, along with a ceramic paw print of Ball Ball. Thank you Teresa for your love, for your professionalism, and for you. Your service was perfect and exceeded all expectations. You make every pet’s guardian feel safe and secure to leave our most beloved too. Thank you.

In a moment of horrible sadness by the loss of my beloved kitty Onyx I had to find a crematory to take care of his remains. I made some phone calls to people I trust in matters such as this one and they all told me the same, to call At Garden’s Edge for their help, they were so sensitive to my loss, providing all the support and respect, arrived in perfect time, giving us all at home the time to say goodbye in peace and tranquility, they were very professional in every sense of the word. They came in person to deliver him back home in a beautiful urn of my choice and a paw print of my baby next to it. What was so very painful, they made it easier to surpass. I will not call on anyone else but them for this services in the future.

Hi –

J and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for doing such wonderful work. The care and sensitivity with which you handled the situation was sooo amazing. The death of a pet is obviously a hard time for people and we really appreciated your kindness, professionalism, attention to detail and very genuinely caring presence. There are a lot of little things that I wouldn’t have thought of (allowing a bit of time after the vet left, making sure that Sofia and I were out of the room when you moved Bully out, etc) that I really appreciated your taking care of. I can’t think of a nicer transition and I will definitely recommend you to friends.
Also, the paw print was lovely. Just lovely.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
